This is a shameless plug for the Hudson Public Library. Ella and I ventured there today and met up with her two friends Malachi and Isabel and their moms. The kids section in this library is fantastic. First, it's free. Second, it is huge and has activity tables, push toys and a built in playhouse. Third, it has real gerbils and guinea pigs (in cages)! Fourth, it has an indoor, very loooong, handicap accessible ramp which all the toddlers/babies/big kids just love to run down. Fifth, great book selection. Sixth, comfy Barnes n' Noble style chairs for the moms. Bonus: kids music time every Thursday.
I am also excited because occasionally we meet Brian for lunch or after work. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Hudson and by then Ella is usually getting sick of the car. Now, we have a place for her to burn off steam and continue on our way. This is a great thing! Tell anyone with young kids about this spot- especially if they are going to drive right by on a looong car trip. It's worth dropping in.
